I don’t know if you watch tennis, but it’s one of the few sports that requires the athlete’s total 100% commitment, and superb performance from start to finish.
There’s no team to rely on, it’s you against your opponent ’till the end.
It is one of my favorite sports, and in watching Wimbledon finals the other day, the match with Roger Federer against Andy Murray reminded me once again about the importance of finishing strong.
Right out of the gate Andy Murray came out firing away and you could tell the guy was ready to win.
His serves were better, he was making half the number of mistakes Federer was, and ended up winning the 1st set.
But as you know, in sports AND in business, it’s not the first horse out of the gate that wins the race.
And after the initial burst of energy, he got tired and started making more mistakes as Roger Federer won 3 consecutive sets, ended up winning the championship and regaining his spot as the #1 player in the world.
And I’ve watched this in tennis MANY times, when the game starts out one way, but then everything shifts and the other person ends up winning.
It’s especially interesting to watch how the moment a player starts losing…
… HOW they respond to it.
Some get refocused and play harder, while others buckle, start making more mistakes which ends up costing them the game.
One of the reasons I admire Federer and believe is reason he’s the best in the world… the guy is like a machine, almost never showing any emotion, just plays hard and often comes back from losing the first set.
Is it any wonder he has the biggest winning record of all time and more Grand-Slam Titles than any other player in the history of the sport?
And it’s exactly the same in business.
I think this business is a LOT like tennis.
So many people start out strong right out of the gate.
I didn’t, I actually struggled for a long time… but have seen others who just blew by everyone else at first… BUT when they hit a bump in the road, for many it was the beginning of the end.
Fortunately, to win in business, you don’t need to be the best or the fastest.
You just need to finish strong.
Never let up… stay focused and don’t take your eye of the goal.
The reason it’s so easy to make it to the top, is because most people won’t do that.
They’ll lose their momentum and instead of refocusing, they’ll give in OR move on to something else.
Case in point…
Have you ever bought a course, with full intentions to go through it ’till the end?
And then somewhere along the line, you’ve lost interest or something made you lose focus and you never finished it?
We all have… and it’s one of the major pitfalls in our business.
Most just start and stop and never see the whole thing through to the end.
It’s easy to get excited in the beginning, but it’s a heck of a lot harder to keep your enthusiasm and commitment all the way through.
Took me YEARS to finally accept the fact that most people are just not made this way.
I still don’t know why and I’ll never get them… but I stopped trying to figure this out.
98% of people will never do a thing… or even if some will, most will never finish it.
It’s not a negative, it’s just the way it is.
It’s true for the network marketing industry… as well as for ANY business opportunity/money making product that exists.
All those people who bought real estate, tax lien, stock trading, franchise, etc… “how to make money” products… 98% did NOTHING with them.
There is GOOD NEWS for you.
If you simply OUTLAST the competition, you’re guaranteed to win.
The REAL reason behind why you do what you do… and it’s the same reason why others will join you… which is actually the same reason EVERYONE buys anything…
… it’s to make themselves feel BETTER about themselves.
Every buying decision (and recruiting someone is a sales process… they need to BUY INTO what you do)… is an emotional one.
We can come up with dozens of reasons WHY people buy… but if we boil it all down to one thing, it’s to…
… FEEL BETTER ABOUT OURSELVES.
The house we live in, the car we drive, the clothes we wear, the TV in your house, the furniture, the color of paint you chose for your walls… EVERYTHING has an emotional reason attached to it.
So knowing this, let’s back up and think when talking to someone about your business… is it the “life changing” product or a “unique” compensation plan or the vision of a founder is what REALLY gonna get someone to move?
No.
What will get them to move are their own selfish reasons.
Here are 7 motivators we ALL have, in no particular order:
1. Money
2. Security
3. Recognition
4. Achievement
5. Love of Family
6. Acceptance of Others
7. Self-AcceptanceWhat SAY you?..............................
Blessings are delivered consistent with your ability to recognize them!

You Always Have A Choice…
“It is not what happens that determines the major part of your future. What happens, happens to us all. It is what you do about what happens that counts.”
It’s easy to dismiss it because you’ve heard this a thousand times… but the question is…
…Are You Doing It?
It’s not what happens TO you, but what happens IN you… or how you RESPOND to it…
… that’s what’s going to have a major impact on the quality of your life, relationships, health, wealth and pretty much anything else you can think of.
Zig Ziglar says that most people REACT to situations, while some people RESPOND.
We want to train ourselves to respond and not always be reacting.
Easy To Say… NOT So Easy To Do.
Life doesn’t happen to us in a classroom, with everyone cheering you on. Often situations arise creating the most adverse circumstances… and in these moments when you have to make decisions about your next steps… lay the foundation of your future success.
But it’s not just the big things, it’s often the little things that happen to us all on a daily basis that can really get our attitudes off track.
Someone cuts you off in traffic, or you get an annoying phone call OR…
Doesn’t matter… the point is, a little thing like that CAN and often DOES spark a moment of anger in virtually all of us, until you can train and discipline yourself to RESPOND in a more empowering way.
Bringing it closer to the business side, when a call doesn’t go your way… a customer cancels… a recruit quits…
… you get a nasty email from someone on your list telling you they’ll report you to FBI because you’re trying to scam people… or something crazy like that .
You’ve had nasty emails from people right?
If you haven’t yet, your list is probably not big enough.
Now it used to REALLY get under my skin.
But I had to reflect on things I learned LONG ago, to NOT take anything personally.
Which is virtually IMPOSSIBLE… but you can reframe how you look at it.
If they say no or worst… it’s not YOU they’re rejecting, but really what you’re offering.
And if they feel like taking their anger out people, it’s really their problem not yours.
A lot of people find it difficult in dealing with others like that, but when you train yourself to respond differently… like – Hey so what, it’s not the kind of person I want to deal with ANYWAY… life becomes so much easier.
What all this really does is develop your mental toughness… a necessary ingredient for success.
Fear is the opposite of Faith, we choose one every minute of every day..... I choose Faith, you? ~
If you WANT it, then you CREATE it! What say you?
